Over the last 18+ years, we are privileged to have designed and developed over 550 small business websites. It’s a considerable responsibility, and one we don’t take lightly. As one of your most influential marketing tools, your site should be compelling and functional. There’s a fine balance between glitz and substance—and we achieve it, every time. When you partner with Graphic D-Signs, rest assured that your website is strategically designed and ready to catapult your business toward greater success.
The Graphic D-Signs team has designed websites for nearly every business and industry type, and we’ve perfected our strategic process through years of refinement. There are no surprises here. The examples on our site represent the caliber of work you can expect to receive when you hire us, and that’s a promise.
Below you’ll discover the nuts and bolts of our process, along with what’s included when you hire Graphic D-Signs to design and build your website.
Aside from a lot of blood and sweat, and of course, our hearts—here are the nuts and bolts of what we include in a typical small business website:
We begin the website design process with our Creative Brief. This is a form that is filled out by you and reviewed in detail by the Graphic D-Signs team. Take your time completing it, because this brief gives us an in-depth review of your online goals, preferences, business objectives, and industry challenges. It also serves as the foundation for our kickoff conversation, where details are fleshed out to ensure alignment on objectives, audiences, and the look/feel of your website.
Now for the fun stuff: brainstorming about the creative approach for your homepage design. The Graphic D-Signs team prides itself on designing homepages that are not only dynamic and captivating, but strategically driven and tailored to your target audience. There is rhyme and reason for the placement of each graphic—as well as the color/texture of the homepage. Everything is tactically designed as we integrate purpose into every design element.
Once we’ve delighted you with the homepage design, we begin implementing this new look and feel across all other website design features.
Up until this point, we have been designing the individual pages of your website: static pages that have zero functionality. After receiving the go-ahead, we begin turning this static web design into a “site shell.” What is a site shell? In layman’s terms, a site shell is a functioning site without the bells and whistles. To create this shell, our in-house web developer slices the homepage and inner page graphics and embeds coding. Think of the site shell as the skeleton of the body, and the design as the skin.
After the site shell is complete, we load all of the content (copy) and refine the functionality so that all bells chime—and all whistles blow. Then, we launch the site, and watch the leads roll in.
