Working With GDS

For all our clients and prospective clients we begin our process with a phone call. What are your needs? How do you envision us helping you? What is your budget for the project? You can set up a meeting at our office if you'd like, but we have clients across the country and have adapted well to working via communication through the internet and phone. Either way works for us.

Base Camp Project Management System

In addition to using the phone, Graphic D-Signs uses an online project management system to coordinate all the communications for your project called 'BaseCamp'. This simple and easy-to-use system enables everyone here - from the copywriters to the designers and art directors - to communicate quickly and efficiently with you and your team. The system acts as a virtual message board so we all know what is going on with your project, and therefore will better be able to serve you in the most efficient manner. Any time you or anyone on our team posts to the project system, you are instantly notified via email, along with our team members. This eliminates the need to sort through countless emails, or forward them to various team members. Additionally, all your files, including artwork, logos and Word documents are conveniently stored in one location. Many clients love working through BaseCamp so much that they have also implemented the system in their own offices to help them manage projects more efficiently.

Supplying Content

If we will be designing a website, brochure or email campaign and you are writing your own content we need a Microsoft Word Document (.doc). In that document should be ALL of the content that we will use in your piece. Include fields you would like your content form to have (if applicable). We also ask that you do not format the text (indents, bullets, etc.) as often we would have to re-type it into an HTML document to avoid strange characters. Make sure your content is not plagerized- you will be held accountable.

Supplying Images

You can supply digital photos to us (.jpg) to be used in your work. If your photos are for print work they must be at 300 dpi. If they are for web design they must be at 72 dpi. We cannot accept negatives. We can accept hard copies which we will scan in, but quality is lost, so we recommend not using them for any print work. If you don’t have any images that is okay too. We can use our stock photo subscription to supplement your piece. Make sure you have the rights to all images you supply to us- you will be held accountable.

Supplying Logo Files

We will need your logo in order to design any piece for you. We would prefer it to be in vector art format (.eps, .ai, .fh). We can also accept PSDs and JPGs if they are at least 300dpi.

A Word About Budgets and Fees

We will not be the lowest bidder for your project because we take the time to do things right. We want to give you the best design and marketing solutions we can, and we ask that that expertise be fairly compensated. If you are seeking an agency to slam out your advertising work for the least amount money, and without regard for quality, you should probably look elsewhere. If your neighbor (or niece, nephew, kid in college, guy in basement) are serious contenders for the job, we encourage you to look elsewhere. If you're comparing our logo work and prices to one of the dozens of cheap internet logo mills, we probably won't be a good match. Our best clients are those who do their homework when comparing our work to what our 'competitors' have in their portfolio - and understand the value, creativity and expertise we bring to the table. Clients who have worked with us would agree that the money invested with our firm was probably their best investment.

Doing things right costs money. Why do we charge what we charge? We are equally expert in designing logos, print, and collateral development as we are in new media and web design. Our exceptional team blends the fresh creativity of hip, young college educated web and graphic designers with the honed expertise of seasoned industry pros. This rare combination of talents results in fresh, strategically sound design work, particularly in launching new businesses and in growing existing ones. All our work is done in-house, not overseas.

We offer flexible payment options and pro-bono or special rates for non-profit organizations. We base our estimates on the scope of the project, the time it will take us, and the size of your company. Please contact us for more information.
